Please help fill Thanksgiving baskets for those in the Phillips Eye Institute neighborhood. Feel free to make it a “tradtional” Thanksgiving meal or as diverse as you like. We will be collecting items through November 20, 2009. Feel free to bring items with you to your next appointment.

Claris Participates in Jubilee

Claris Eye Care & Surgery staff spent a beautiful day in Apple Valley participating in the 2009 Jubilee Celebration, an outreach event which allows those blessed with much to share with others less fortunate. We at Claris were able to provide glaucoma screening for everyone seeking it and identified some people with risk factors for glaucoma and other eye diseases. In some cases, we were able to recommend that they see their eye doctor for follow up diagnosis and treatment.

It was a great opportunity to be outside and enjoy a warm, sunny fall day but even better, to be able to educate people about glaucoma and other eye diseases. We look forward to participating in other upcoming outreach events as they become available!

Soon, when you select “patient login” on this Web site, you will have secure access to your health record and registration materials. What’s more, you will be able to conduct all of the following quickly and easily:

Request a time for an appointment
Submit payment online
Update demographic information
Request a call back from a Claris staff member
Prescription renewal requests

We will be communicating the full benefits of our on-line patient portal with you soon, as well as details on how to use the system. Claris Eye Care & Surgery is now open for business! The office is now ready to accept patient calls and schedule appointments. We look forward to seeing you!

Claris Eye Care & Surgery opens with a focus on the patient, encompassing trusted clinical quality as well as high levels of interaction between the patient and the physician. “Far too often, large medical groups are designed like factories,” says Keith H. Carlson, MD, Claris founder. “This clinic will focus on patients as people. As I always have, I will personally spend the time with patients that they need to be comfortable with the decisions they make about their eyes.”

Dr. Carlson has nearly 20 years of extensive patient care and surgical experience. He is Mayo trained and has worked in the Twin Cities since the early 1990s. He and his team have a track record of providing patients with the time they need in the exam room, and the clinical quality they need for optimal vision outcomes.

Beginning August 19, patients can call 612.775.8009 to make an appointment with Dr. Carlson at Claris. Patients will begin being seen at Claris’ offices on September 1.

Claris uses an electronic medical record, which will include an on-line means of scheduling appointments and securely accessing patient test results and other information.
